Positive NEWS This Week
We live in a terrifying world. Some days I feel like crying about all the horrendous things occurring. Typically, I get frustrated and anxious because I want to show more initiative and aid others, but I know I can't help absolutely everyone. I make a list of all the positive things I have heard throughout the week when I get in these moods, to make myself feel better I make a list of all the great thing I heard that day. I am in no way saying we should ignore the tragedies that occur, but oftentimes, it becomes overwhelming and we forget to acknowledge the few successes. A word to the wise, this list seems strange and a bit arbitrary, but honestly it's just something I wrote in my notebook and wanted to share so, like, do you care if it's collected? I present you will some good news from this week to remind you that many things, but not everything is wretched!!
DACA IS SAFE...FOR NOW
U.S. District Judge William Alsup ruled in San Francisco on Tuesday to protect Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals or DACA. Why is that important? It's keeping 700,000 people from being deported that's why. Here is a video from Vox explaining DACA for those of you who might not know exactly what it is.
POLLUTION IS DECREASING IN BEIJING!!!
This news is fantastic especially considering that China has such an enormous population. They are taking initiative and are even preventing premature deaths with such a decrease. China is not the only country creating reforms to decrease the impact of climate change. Countries such as Canada and Australia are making efforts as well as those countries involved in this years 2017 United Nations Climate Change Conference or "COP23."

After he completely disrespected Japan with his stupid antics on the street and made a video showing a man who had taken his own life, I would expect nothing less from YouTube. Unfortunately, they only implemented this change after the immense scrutiny they received and failed to do much else to restrict Paul.

LITTLE MISS FLINT
Amariyanna "Mari" Copeny also known as "Little Miss Flint," has been fighting for clean water in the town of Flint, Michigan since she was just 8 years old. Her plight is not new, but it is one I want to ensure stays alive. Flint has not had clean water since April 24, 2014. We cannot turn our backs on them. Mari is a reminder of what one person is capable of if they are passionate enough.
